Abstract
In this paper we examine the potential role of information technology (IT) in the so-called virtual enterprises (VE). We do this by providing a case s tudy of the entrepreneur Bill Epstein. We briefly describe Epstein's activi ties and his role as enterprise "broker". We speculate about the possible r easons why Epstein himself does not make heavy use of IT and present a tool box of possible IT which would support VE broker activities.
