Abstract
Blends of maleated EPDM and maleated HDPE (abbreviated mEPDM and mHDPE) in compositions ranging from 90/10 to 50/50, parts by weight, were prepared. T he blends behave as a good adhesive for aluminum-aluminum bonding. The 50/5 0 blend of mEPDM and mHDPE shows a higher peel strength than the correspond ing EPDM/HDPE blend. The incorporation of zinc oxide in the mEPDM/mHDPE ble nd increases the peel strength further, which also depends on the molding t ime and temperature.
