M. Giralt et X. Llimona, THE SAXICOLOUS SPECIES OF THE GENERA RINODINA AND RINODINELLA LACKINGSPOT-TEST REACTIONS IN THE IBERIAN PENINSULA, Mycotaxon, 62, 1997, pp. 175-224
The morphology, anatomy, chemistry, ecology and distribution of twenty
Iberian saxicolous Rinodina and Rinodinella species lacking spot test
reactions are discussed, namely Rinodina bischoffii, R. calcarea, R.
cana, R. castanomela, R. dubyana, R. gennarii, R. guzzinii, R. immerse
, R. insularis, R. interpolata, R. lecanorina, R. luridata, R. milvina
, R. obnascens, R. parasitica, R. rinodinoides, R. teichophila, R. tun
icata, Rinodinella controversa and R. dubyanoides. ''Buellia'' parvula
of uncertain taxonomic position is also included. New data on Rinodin
a sicula and R. epimilvina, two species containing secondary lichen co
mpounds, are also provided. Rinodina iodes s. lat. is a synonym of R.
luridata, R. orcularia of R. bischoffii and R. orculariopsis of R. sic
ula. The new combination Rinodina bischoffii var. castanomelodes is pr
oposed. Rinodina interpolata, R. parasitica and R. sicula are reported
for the first time from the area studied. A special note on the hithe
rto misunderstood Rinodina amoldii is given. Some illustrations and a
key to the species are included.
