Abstract
The push-pull-activated pyranosidulose 2 reacted with acetylacetone and met hyl acetoacetate to afford the anellated pyranosides 3 and 4, respectively. Treatment of the ulose 2 with acetoacetamide and malononitrile, respective ly, furnished the fused pyridones 5 and 6. Benzo-anellated pyranosides 7 we re obtained by reaction of pyranosidulose 2 with dialkyl 3-oxoglutarates.
