Abstract
New consistent vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the binary systems 3-methy lpentane + ethyl 1,1-dimethylethyl ether, + diisopropyl ether, and + tetrah ydrofuran are reported at 101.3 kPa. The measured systems, which deviate fr om ideal behavior, can be described as symmetric solutions, and only the sy stem 3-methylpentane + tetrahydrofuran presents an azeotrope. The activity coefficients and boiling points of the solutions were correlated with compo sition by Wilson, UNIQUAC, NRTL, and Wisniak-Tamir equations.
