W. Van Neer et al., First inland records of the euryhaline goby Knipowitschia caucasica from lakes in Anatolia, Turkey, J FISH BIOL, 54(6), 1999, pp. 1334-1337
Knipowitschia caucasica, a euryhaline Ponto-Caspian-Aegean gobiid fish, is
recorded for the first time from Lakes Egirdir, Eber and Demirkopru (Anatol
ia). Its presence in these lakes is probably due to involuntary introductio
n with common carl, from hatcheries in the Edirne-Ipsala region, Thrace, th
e European part of Turkey. (C) 1999 The Fisheries Society of the British Is
