Abstract
Addition of the diarylstannylene R ''Sn-2 (R '' = 2-'Bu-4,5,6-Me3C6H) to the cryptodiborylcarbene (Me3Si)(2)C(B'Bu)(2)C furnishes the stanna ethene (Me3Si)(2)C(B'Bu)(2)C=SnR ''(2) (10). The X-ray structure analy sis of 10 reveals a strictly planar environment of the tricoordinated tin and carbon atoms and a slight twisting of the Sn=C double bond.
