The decays of T-z= 1/2 series nuclei Zr-81 and Mo-85 have been restudied vi
a their beta-delayed proton decay by using p-gamma coincidence measurements
. The P-delayed proton spectra populating the first excited states of the f
inal nuclei have been obtained. Ey using statistical model calculations wit
h level densities calculated with a backshifted Fermi gas model, the spin a
nd parity for the ground state of 81Zr have been tentatively assigned to be
3/2(-) and those for Mo-85 to be 1/2(-). Their Qe(.e)-B-p values are 4.7+/
-0.2 and 5.1+/-0.2 MeV, which correspond to mass excesses of -58.3+/-0.2 Me
V for Zr-81 and of - 59.1+/-0.4 MeV for Mo-85, respectively. Combining the
measured half-lives with the calculated partial ones yields branches of P-d
elayed proton decay for Zr-81 and Mo-85 Of (1.2+/-0.2)x 10(-3) and (1.4+/-0
.2)x 10(-3) respectively. [S0556-2813(99)02703-X].
