Fission fragment folding angle distributions have been measured for the sys
tems B-11+Np-237, C-12+U-236, and O-16+Th-232, populating the same compound
nucleus (Cf-248) and at similar excitation energies (E-x 45-100 MeV). The
full momentum transfer and incomplete momentum transfer fusion-fission comp
onents have been separated over the bombarding energy range 1.1<E-c.m./V-B<
2.1. It is observed thar the largest value of the ratio of the transfer fis
sion to the total fission is around 10 to 15 % at the highest energy invest
igated. Over the energy range mentioned above, it is found that the transfe
r fission corrected fission fragment anisotropies are not significantly dif
ferent from the values already obtained from the analysis of the total fiss
ion data reported earlier and hence the conclusions reached from the inclus
ive data remain unchanged. The anisotropy data were analyzed for the two ca
ses corresponding to fission events with sizable fission barriers (B-f>T) a
nd with smaller fission barriers (B-f<T) It was interesting to find that th
e effective moment of inertia (J(eff)) values deduced from the latter compo
nent were consistent with the values from Sierk prescription used in the fo
rmer case. [S0556-2813(99)03105-2].
