Abstract
We investigate the isotropization of the Bianchi type-IX models with an exp onential potential of the form V(phi) = Lambda e(k phi). If the parameter k <J root 2 then there exists a set of ever-expanding anisotropic Bianchi typ e-IX models that isotropize and inflate towards an expanding power-law infl ationary solution. If k> root 2 then initially expanding Bianchi type-M mod els do not isotropize towards an ever-expanding isotropic model. [S0556-282 1(99)05910-X].
