Abstract
Conjugate addition of Boc-L-Cys-OH to 3-methylcrotonaldehyde, in situ reduc tion with sodium borohydride, and in situ deprotection with hydrochloric ac id, directly followed by chromatography gives L-felinine in 73% yield. Simi lar syntheses may produce acid building blocks for combinatorial libraries. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
