Abstract
Singlet oxygenation of olefins 3 and 6 affords selectively the correspondin g 1,2-dioxetanes bearing a phenylethenylgroup (1) or a phenylethynyl group (2), which possess marked thermal stability. Treatment of siloxy-substitute d analogs Ib and 2b with tetrabutylammonium fluoride in DMSO causes the cha rge transfer-induced decomposition of the dioxetanes to yield red light.
