Abstract
Four-coordination compounds of the bis-Schiff base, bis(o-vanillin)-o-pheny lenediamine with Co-II, Ni-II, Cu-II and Zn-II were obtained in high yield by a self-assembly solid state reaction of the metal acetates with o-vanill in and o-phenylenediamine at 60 degrees C. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, i.r., u.v., molar conductivities and by powder XRD. The spectroscopic data show that the complexes are pure and are nonelectro lytes.
