Fe-TM-B (TM = Sn, TN, Mo-W) alloy deposits with thicknesses in the range 1
to 3 mu m prepared by electroless plating were studied with respect to thei
r magnetic properties. The saturation magnetization of the deposits increas
es with increasing iron content and decreases with increasing annealing tem
perature. On the contrary, the coercivity of the alloy deposits runs throug
h a minimum with increasing boron content for Fe-Sn-B and Fe-W-B and increa
se continually with increasing annealing temperature for Fe-Mo-W-B. The rem
anence-to-saturation ratio of the alloy deposits is lower than 0.37 for Fe-
Sn-B and Fe-W-B, and 0.53 for Fe-Mo-W-B, and does not significantly increas
e even after heat treatment.
