Abstract
The cations and anions in diaquahydrogen(1+) hexachloroantimonate, (H5O2)[S bCl6], are linked by hydrogen bonds to form twelve-membered rings. The O... O distance in the H5O2+ cation, which displays crystallographic twofold sym metry, is 2.400(3) Angstrom, indicating a strong hydrogen bond. The anion, with formal inversion symmetry, has an almost regular octahedral structure.
