Abstract
This article discusses the clinical applications of MR imaging in the setting of acute extremity injuries. General indications include evalu ation of physeal injuries, occult fractures, stress fractures, musculo tendinous injuries, and ligamentous injuries. Indications of MR imagin g of acute injuries vary, depending on such factors as the potential f or management alteration and clinical suspicion. Radiologists need to be familiar with the possible applications of MR imaging in acute extr emity injury.
