Abstract
Misunderstandings have occurred regarding the conclusions of the paper "On Density-dependent and Temperature-dependent Ground-State and Continuum Effe cts in the Equation of State for Stellar Interiors" by S. Arndt, W. Dappen, & A. Nayfonov (1998, ApJ, 498, 349). On occasion, its results have been in terpreted as if it showed basic flaws in the general theory of dynamical sc reening. The aim of this comment is to emphasize the context in which the c onclusions of the paper must be understood in order to avoid misinterpretat ions.
