Abstract
Lead(ll) was quantitatively extracted with 1 x 10(.4) M Calix(6)arene hexaa cetato derivative in xylene at pH 6.0 with 4 M nitric acid. It was stripped and determined spectrophotometrically at 520 nm using 4-(2-pyridylazo) res orcinol. Although silver, indium and palladium showed strong interference, metals like molybdenum, selenium, chromium, tellurium associated in. minera ls or tin, antimony, zinc, bismuth, thallium associated in, low fusible all oys are tolerated in the ratio 1:10. Anions, alkali and alkaline earths are well tolerated. The method was applied for determination of lead in, real samples like a solder. The reproducibility, expressed as Relative Standard Deviation is +/- 1.2%.
