Abstract
The various eavesdropping strategies on a quantum cryptographic channel as discussed by Gisin and and Huttner, Phys. Lett. A, Vol. 228, p. 13, 1997, c an be reproduced by unsharp spin (represented by positive operator valued m easure) measurement of spin-1/2 particle. An upper bound for unsharp parame ter is obtained so that it still gives rise to violation of Bell's inequali ty for the two particle transmission channel. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd .
