Abstract
Charge transfer reactions in free clusters are observed in a photoluminesce nce study on doped rare-gas clusters (Rg clusters, Rg = Ar, Kr and Xe). Fol lowing photoexcitation into the first absorption bands of Rg clusters, fluo rescence from free RgF* excimers ejected from the dusters and from Rg,FY ex cimers localized in the interior of the clusters is observed. The results s how that the reaction dynamics in clusters differs considerably from that i n the gas and solid phase. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserv ed.
