Abstract
We introduce an interactive parametric procedural method to simulate the vi sual nature of lightning based on random binary tree results from probabili ty theory. This technique has a rich parameter set and addresses one of the key outstanding points of previous work, namely, the formalization and par ameterization of the branching pattern algorithm used to generate the light ning bolt.
