Abstract
This paper will introduce a new type of condenser-evaporator, which is name d quasi-annular flow and is based on the theory of microfilm thermosiphon b oiling heat transfer of two-phase flow in a narrow channel. It has remarkab le characteristics both in high heat transfer coefficient and in small temp erature difference for heat transfer, in comparison with others currently. Recent experimental results of the authors show that the main part of heat transfer resistance of the condenser-evaporator is in the boiling side. It is also shown that if the heat transfer in the boiling side is to be optimi zed to match with the condensing side, the heat transfer performance of the new type condenser-evaporator will be improved further.
