Abstract
Radar imagery is analysed and the speed and direction of the near-surface w ind close to the ground boundary of an atmospheric cord front are estimated from radar signal values at two polarizations. The characteristics of the wind-field fine structure are identified. The picture observed is interpret ed within the framework of ideas about internal waves generated with the mo vement of an atmospheric cold front.
