Abstract
Results of mycorrhizal fungi production in spruce monocultures are presente d. The study plots are situated in forest stands at the age of 7, 14 and 31 years, respectively. The highest fungi biomass production was found in the stand aged 14 years (1227.45 kg.ha(-1) of fresh biomass). The lowest produ ction was found in the 31-year-old stand (8.70 k.ha(-1)) damaged by wind an d snow. The production of ectomycorrhizal fungi was affected by the microcl imate conditions. Damage to the stands by windthrow and snow disaster showe d strong negative effects on the production of fungi.
