Abstract
The paper presents a new approach for the measurement of power system harmo nic components and is based on fuzzy linear regression. In this approach, t he non-sinusoidal voltage or current waveform is written as a linear functi on. The coefficients of this function are assumed to be fuzzy numbers havin g a certain middle and spread value. The problem is formulated as a linear optimization problem, where the objective is to minimize the spread of volt age or current samples. Effects of critical parameters on the proposed algo rithm are studied in the text. The proposed approach is tested using severa l numerical tests, which form the basis to our conclusions at the end of th e paper. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
