Abstract
Diagnostic and therapeutic challenges abound in amiodarone-treated patients . Amiodarone therapy results in perturbations in tests of thyroid function in euthyroid individuals as well as a complete spectrum of true thyroid der angement in a select group of patients treated with this agent. The objective of this article is to provide an overview of current principl es in the diagnosis and management of amiodarone-induced thyroid dysfunctio n.
