A case report of Wegener's granulomatosis of the head and neck area is pres
ented to substantiate the claim that it is often difficult to make the diag
nosis in spite of clinical symptoms and laboratory studies. Often a diagnos
is of exclusion when isolated features of the disease are not present, Wege
ner's granulomatosis must be effectively treated. The clinical manifestatio
ns, laboratory studies, and histologic interpretations are discussed as wel
l as other vasculitides considered in the diagnosis.
