Letter: Complexes of amino (6-monodeoxy-6-mono)-beta-cyclodextrin probed by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

The first examples of molecular complexes of a substituted beta-cyclodextri n, amino (6-monodeoxy-6-mono)-beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CDNH2), with several drugs and amino acids are examined using electrospray ionization mass spect rometry, The analysis of samples which contained beta-CDNH2 with cis-2-(4-m ethoxyphenyl)-3,4-dimethyl 5-phenyloxazolidine tan oxazolidine prodrug of ( 1R,2S)-(-)-ephedrine), dacarbazine, ibuprofen, terbutaline, fenoterol, amph etamine, methylphenidate, glyburide, tyrosine, tryptophan or phenylalanine are discussed. Control experiments and observation of "false positives" are also presented.
