Abstract
Amethocaine gel is a recently developed formulation of amethocaine, designe d to provide percutaneous local anaesthesia. Its pharmacological characteri stics coupled with a phase-change gel formulation may confer therapeutic ad vantages over existing preparations. Percutaneous local anaesthesia has inc reasing relevance in analgesia for paediatric procedures and superficial su rgical operations.
