Abstract
With increasingly successful resuscitation many patients survive to reach h ospital after a cardiac arrest but few survive to be discharged, Work on th e investigation and treatment of such patients hers begun to influence the outcome. This article reviews the epidemiology, mechanisms and management o f failed sudden cardiac death, specifically in ischaemic heart disease.
