A series of complexes derived from the reactions of tricyclohexyltin(IV) ch
loride, (C6H11)(3)SnCl with various carboxylic acids have been synthesized
and characterized respectively by using microanalytical, IR, H-1, C-13 and
Sn-119 NMR spectroscopic methods. (C6H11)(3)SnCl reacts with picolinic, nic
otinic and 5-bromonicotinic acids leading to the formation of complexes wit
h general formula (C6H11)(3)Sn(H2O) . L and (C6H11)(3)SnCl . L (where L = d
eprotonated carboxylic acid) wherein the carboxylic acid coordinates to the
Sn atom via one of the O atoms from the COOH group.
