Addition of excess ferrocenylacetylene (FcC=CH) to [eta(5)-(C5H5)Ti][mu:eta
(2):eta(2)-C-2(SiMe3)(2)](2)[eta(5)-(C5H5)Mg] (1) affords the novel ferroce
ne - pseudotitanocene complex [eta(5)-1,2,5,6-tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)-4-fe
rrocenylcyclohexa-1,4-dienyl](eta(5)-cyclopentadienyl)titanium(II), [eta(5)
-(Me3Si)(4)FcC(6)H(2)]Ti(eta(5)-C5H5) (2), as the sole isolated titanium-co
ntaining product. Its structure was established by EI MS, NMR and UV-vis sp
ectroscopy. The formation of 2 follows the general reaction route of termin
