Abstract
Generation of UV radiation by microwave field has been applied to a photoch emical reaction of perfluorohexylethene with tetrahydrofuran. Reactions wer e carried out under microwave and UV combined irradiation using a new simpl e photochemical reactor developed for organic synthetic reactions. Comparat ive experiments with conventional mercury lamps showed the higher efficienc y of microwave electrodeless lamps providing high yield of product in short er reaction time.
