Abstract
this article argues that nursing must undertake further careful study of as sisted suicide. Nursing must determine the relationship of assisted suicide to its core values as an important condition for making beneficent, patien t-centered clinical decisions as well as for participating in discussions t hat establish public policies and professional practice standards.
