Ay. Kupreeva et al., Spontaneously hypertensive rats: Expression of the erythrocyte membrane proteins in second generation hybrids F-2 (SHR x WKY), KARDIOLOGIY, 39(4), 1999, pp. 54-58
'The aim of the study was to determine characteristics of phenotype (blood
pressure level, heart rate) of second generation hybrids of SHR and WKY rat
s (F-2) and to investigate its relationship with contents of some proteins
in erythrocyte membrane. There were significant differences between SHR and
WKY rats in quantitative content of a series of membrane protein fractions
. flood pressure level correlated with expression of alpha- and beta-spectr
in, some proteins from bands 4.1a, 4.2, 4.5, and tropomyosin. Directions of
correlations for some protein fractions were sex related and correlation c
oefficients for male and female animals had opposite signs. These data demo
nstrated existence of disturbed regulation of expression of the plasmatic c
ell membrane proteins in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
