Carbon black and fullerenes - Part II: Precursor and structure identification

Several evidences of fullerenes present in the furnace carbon black formati on process ave reported. These fullerene structures am particularly abundan t in some experimental furnace blacks. Our observations could be related to the discovery of fullerenes in soot-forming flames in the literature. If i s believed that either fullerenes or fullerene precursors could play an imp ortant role in carbon black formation, especially in the inception step.
