We discuss the spacetime structure for the decay of a bubble of hypothetica
l phase-disoriented chiral condensate (DCC). The evolution of the initial c
lassical-field configuration corresponding to a DCC bubble has been studied
both numerically and analytically. The decay of this initial configuration
depends crucially on the self-interaction of pion fields. It has been show
n that, in some cases, this self-interaction leads to the formation of a br
eather solution formed from pion fields and situated at the center of the i
nitial DCC bubble. This breather appears to be a long-lived source of pion
fields.
