We present a prepubertal male cystic fibrosis patient with high circulating
oestrogen levels las a consequence of severe cystic-fibrosis-related hepat
obiliary disease who subsequently developed a large pelvic arteriovenous ma
lformation. This has not previously been described in patients with cystic
fibrosis, despite the association between high oestrogen levels and arterio
venous malformations. The aetiology and treatment options of arteriovenous
malformations are discussed.
