From the leaves of Lonicera implexa Aiton (Caprifoliaceae) 22 compound
s (five iridoids, one saponin, one cyclitol, three quinic acid derivat
ives, and 12 flavonoids) were isolated and characterized. Three flavon
oids, namely implexaflavone (1), madreselvin A (2), and madreselvin B
(3), were new compounds. The structures were determined by spectroscop
ic methods, including 2D NMR. Some chemotaxonomic and ecological notes
about the isolated compounds are given.
