In a cultural panorama which reconsiders the philosophical presuppositions
and methodologies of cognitive science, this paper focuses on the systemic
paradigm as a general framework capable of unifying different approaches to
cognitive science. The paper outlines how structured system models constit
ute a useful basis for a dynamic approach to cognition. A systemic invarian
t, to be used in cognitive studies, is also introduced. Finally some cognit
ive considerations are made from a systemic view of cognition. Copyright (C
