Bioanalytical microsystems for clinical chemistry

A miniaturized analysing system for the rapid assay of liver transaminases activities was set up by means of hybrid technology. Microfluidics was real ized with printed circuit board technology and combined with thin film glut amate biosensors. The function oft his system was demonstrated in buffer so lutions with GOT (AST) and GPT (ALT). The sample and reagent volumes requir ed are 70 mu l each and the assay time is 4.5 minutes. The miniaturized sys tem has an outer dimensions of 42 x 22 x 1.5 mm(3) and a total internal vol ume of 11 mu l.
