The behavior of beams originated by J(0)-correlated sources when they
pass through a thin lens is analyzed. The corresponding transformation
results are noteworthy, since they disclose meaningful properties of
these beams, particularly when compared with a better known class of b
eams, namely Gaussian-Schell model beams. We also verify that the laws
of geometrical optics are clearly approximated as the coherence lengt
h decreases.
