Abstract
The solvated rare-earth nitrates Ln(NO3)(3)(thf)(n) (Ln=Pr, n=4 (1): Ln=Ho (2), Yb (3), n=3 and Ln(NO3)(3)(dme)(2); Ln = Pr (4), Ho (5)) were obtained from Ln(NO3)(3)(H2O)(x) and HC(OCH3)(3). Pale green thermally labile cryst als of 1 were characterized by X-ray crystallography. The praseodymium atom s in two independent monomeric molecules show capped trigonal prismatic and pentagonal bipyramidal coordination, respectively.
