Abstract
Primary aldosteronism is a relatively uncommon etiology of hypertension. Pl asma renin activity is suppressed in the majority of the cases but not alwa ys. Plasma renin activity has been associated with increased vascular injur y. The occurrence of vascular complications has rarely been reported with l ow plasma renin activity. The authors report a case of long-standing second ary hypertension due to primary aldosteronism with coronary artery aneurysm s and aortic dissection. Diagnosing is important, for therapeutic intervent ion can be curative.
