Abstract
Environmental embrittlement (water vapour induced hydrogen embrittlement) h as been studied on a very fine grained Fe-40 at. % Al alloy, by room temper ature tensile tests performed at different humidity levels and with differe nt strain rates. The efficiency of an oxide layer as a means of protection has also been demonstrated.
