Abstract
Hydrochus ibericus from the foothills of the Iberian Mountains in Soria pro vince (type locality) and in several localities in southern and eastern mou ntainous areas of the Iberian Peninsula is described. Phylogenetically, the new species belongs to the Hydrochus elongatus-ignicollis-angusi species g roup and is a sister-species of H. angusi, another also probably endemic sp ecies from the Iberian Peninsula.
