Abstract
Ochthebius irenae sp. n. is described from Albacete (SE Spain, Iberian Peni nsula). The external morphology of the new species is close to O. bonnairei , O. ferroi and O. heydeni, although the structure of the aedeagus places i t in an isolated position. The species was found in a shallow temporary pon d close to a saline lagoon over gypsiferous soils.
