Abstract
1. This review summarizes the major known aspects of the metabolism of seco nd-generation (iprindole, viloxazine, bupropion, mianserin, maprotiline, an d trazodone) and fourth-generation (nefazodone and venlafaxine) antidepress ants. 2. Discussions about specific enzymes involved and about possible pharmacok inetic drug-drug interactions, particularly as they relate to cytochrome P4 50 enzymes, are provided.
