Abstract
Malignant nonseminomatous germ cell tumors (NSGCT) rarely metastasize to th e heart. The first such case presenting with syncope is described. Eight pr eviously described cases of NSGCT with intracaval metastasis to the heart a re reviewed and the literature to date is discussed. Transesophageal echoca rdiography is the diagnostic study of choice and treatment consists primari ly of platinum-based chemotherapy followed by surgical resection of residua l deposits.
