Abstract
Many therapeutic agents have been advocated for use in cats with idiopathic lower urinary tract disease (iLUTD); however, few have been subject to con trolled clinical trials proving their efficacy and safety, The problem is c ompounded by the fact that clinical signs associated with iLUTD are frequen tly of short duration and self-limiting. Consequently, any form of therapy may appear beneficial as long as it is not harmful. This article explores v arious options for managing clinical signs and potential sequelae associate d with iLUTD.
